Bits & Bites Returns to Dallas Arboretum with Culinary Talent and Student Innovation
On Sunday, April 13, from 6 to 8 p.m., Dallas College will host its annual Bits & Bites food and wine festival at the Dallas Arboretum’s A Tasteful Place. The event brings together culinary, pastry, and hospitality students from Dallas College, working side by side with 38 of Dallas’s most prominent chefs to prepare and serve over 18,000 dishes. It’s an evening to celebrate food, talent, and the pathways Dallas College creates for students pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.
This year’s roster of chefs features some of Dallas’s best-known names in food, including Jeff Bekavac of Goodwins, Nikky Phinyawatana of Asian Mint, and Mario Hernandez of Nuri Steakhouse, among others. Many of these chefs trace their culinary roots back to Dallas College, highlighting the institution’s ongoing impact on the local dining scene. Honoree Randy DeWitt, founder and chairman of FB Society, will also be recognized for his contributions to the Dallas restaurant industry. DeWitt’s company has launched over 20 restaurant brands, including Velvet Taco, Whiskey Cake, and Haywire.
In addition to food and wine, Bits & Bites offers live entertainment, with DJ Randy Senter providing music throughout the evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to preview the “Taste of Fashion” segment, a showcase of designs created by Dallas College fashion students. This sneak peek sets the stage for the full Future of Fashion Design Showcase, which takes place on April 24 at the Astoria Event Venue in Irving.
Proceeds from ticket sales directly benefit Dallas College students by funding scholarships and programming that prepare them for careers in the fast-growing culinary and hospitality fields. General admission tickets are priced at $95. VIP tickets, which include early access to the event, dedicated parking, a champagne reception with DeWitt, and a special thank-you gift, are also available for purchase.
This year’s festival not only underscores the depth of culinary talent in Dallas but also reflects the crucial role Dallas College plays in fostering the next generation of industry professionals. Tickets are on sale now—your attendance supports students while offering an evening of exceptional food, wine, and community.
