Prince Street Pizza Finds a Home on Henderson
One of New York’s most talked-about slice shops is about to land in Dallas. Prince Street Pizza, the Manhattan original that turned square pies and pepperoni cups into cult objects, will open its first Texas location in mid-October on Henderson Avenue. The 1,200-square-foot building once housed Fireside Pies, a restaurant that helped launch the strip’s dining boom two decades ago.
For thirteen years, Prince Street has drawn crowds in SoHo with thick, focaccia-like crusts topped with bubbling mozzarella and pepperoni that curls into crisp little chalices. The Dallas shop will bring in the classics — the Spicy Spring, layered with fra diavolo sauce and thick-cut pepperoni, and The Naughty, a riot of vodka sauce, ricotta, mozzarella, hot honey and more pepperoni.
The menu extends beyond pizza. Diners can expect chopped Italian and Caesar salads, fried arancini, smoked mozzarella sticks, and a lineup of desserts designed to keep the meal from ending too soon. Whole pies and Grandma-style trays will be offered alongside the slices that made the brand famous.
Prince Street isn’t coming to Texas quietly. The Henderson Avenue shop plans to serve late into the night — midnight during the week, with hours stretching to 3 or 4 a.m. on weekends. That move echoes the brand’s coastal outposts in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami, where lines often snake out the door long after dinnertime.
For chief executive Lawrence Longo, the formula is simple: “a good old-fashioned New York slice.” What that means in practice is a certain kind of indulgence — hefty squares baked until the edges crunch, pepperoni oils slicking the parchment, and an atmosphere that makes waiting in line part of the ritual.
Henderson Avenue has seen restaurants come and go, but Prince Street Pizza’s arrival signals a return to the sort of destination dining that once defined the neighborhood. And for Dallasites who have made pilgrimages to New York for a taste of those famous pepperoni cups, the trip just got a lot shorter.
