Babel Brings Lebanese Elegance to Uptown Dallas
<p>Babel, opening this month in Uptown Dallas, is Mo Kamal’s most personal project to date. The restaurateur behind Open Sesame has built his new concept around Lebanese hospitality—quietly generous, deeply rooted, and designed to linger.
Chef Zeina Kamal, Mo’s sister, leads the kitchen with a mix of tradition and restraint. Her menu leans on family recipes and regional flavors—mezze bright with herbs, grilled meats scented with smoke and spice, seafood layered with citrus and olive oil. It’s Mediterranean food that speaks softly but carries weight.
The space itself reflects the same intention. Designed as a kind of modern Babylonian refuge, Babel trades flash for texture: curved lines, warm neutrals, and gentle light. It’s elegant without being formal, the sort of room that flatters both a quiet dinner and a celebratory one.
Located inside the Centrum building at 3180 Welborn Street, Babel will open Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., Friday until 11, and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. The restaurant is closed Sundays. For updates, follow on Instagram.
