Black Sheep Coffee Brings Its Bold Brews to Little Elm
<p>Black Sheep Coffee, the London-born coffee brand with a cult following and a taste for rebellion, is opening its fourth DFW café this Saturday, January 10, in Little Elm. The new shop lands at 26912 E University Drive, Suite 100, with a drive-thru, a full menu of its signature 100% specialty-grade Robusta coffee, and the same confident swagger that’s fueled its rapid rise across North Texas.
Founded in 2013 by college friends Gabriel Shohet and Eirik Holth, Black Sheep built its reputation by doing what other coffee brands wouldn’t: spotlighting Robusta beans instead of Arabica. The result is a cup that’s punchier, smoother, and higher in natural caffeine—an espresso with attitude. The company’s tagline, “Leave the herd behind,” isn’t just marketing; it’s a manifesto. With more than 130 locations worldwide, including shops across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, the brand has been steadily planting its flag in the U.S., starting with DFW.
“Little Elm is booming, and we’re thrilled to become part of this vibrant and dynamic community,” Shohet said in announcing the opening. He and Holth plan to double down on Texas this year, with an Austin store opening later this month and more DFW locations already in the works.
Saturday’s grand opening will be the kind of celebration that rewards early risers. Guests who download the Black Sheep Coffee app on the App Store or Google Play can score $2 small hot or iced lattes all day long. There’ll be limited-edition Little Elm merchandise, at-home coffee giveaways, and plenty of the brand’s high-energy atmosphere—equal parts London grit and North Texas sunshine.
Inside, expect a warm, modern space where the espresso machines hum and the playlist leans upbeat. Alongside the signature drinks—flat whites, mochas, and matcha lattes—are Norwegian waffles, pastries, smoothies, and a short but thoughtful lineup of all-day eats. Like the coffee, it’s all designed to keep things moving: no pretension, just good caffeine and good company.
The new Little Elm café will open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s a welcome addition to the growing list of DFW spots where coffee isn’t an afterthought but an experience worth driving for—especially when the drive-thru makes it that much easier.
