Holiday Central: Did you know you can book Reunion Tower’s new Cloud Nine Cafe observation deck and private dining room for holiday parties?


It’s party season, so the Hatch is getting lots of inquiries about private dining spaces for holiday dinners. One of the coolest spots in town just opened: Reunion Tower’s Cloud Nine, part of the new Geo-Deck observation floor high atop Reunion.  The space holds 175 people for seated dinners and 250 people in a mix-and-mingle setting. The best part: Patton Robertson, the chef of Reunion’s main restaurant, 560 by Wolfgang Puck, is also the chef of Cloud Nine.

Robertson is a terrific chef. Last night, he teamed with chefs Matt Raso (Nobu Dallas) and Teichi Sakurai (Tei-An) in the first of what Robertson hopes will be a recurring theme– guest chef dinners where a small group of Dallas chefs collaborate on a themed dinner at 560.

(For those keeping score, the dinner had a Japanese theme, with Robertson throwing down sake-braised pork belly with shire/miso turnip puree. Raso played a filet of salmon tatami paired with Hawaiian hearts of palm and crisp-fried leeks. Teichi trumped them all with stuffed, roasted quill stuffed with sticky rice and mastutake mushrooms.)
