DFW Restaurant Week returns with dining deals August 31. Here’s the list.


DFW Restaurant Week, the annual dine-around fundraiser benefitting the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Lena Pope, is back this year, coronavirus be damned.

Now in its 23rd year, the participating restaurants offer both dine-in and take-out options. Each restaurant offers a fixed price menu, donating a small percentage of proceeds to the NTFB (Dallas restaurants) or Lena Pope (Tarrant restos). Both will receive a smaller donation — 10 percent rather than the 20 percent they received in prior years. Restaurant Week organizers typically keep a hefty chunk of the funds to cover administrative overhead, but there’s not mention of whether they’ve cut their fee, too.

There are far fewer restaurants this year – and Pappas Bros. Steakhouse — which raised (and donated) the most for the NTFB for the past several years — is notably absent.

If you do chose a RW deal at a participating resto, this year’s dates are August 31-September 6. Many restaurants often extend their deals through September 27, and a few offer a head start with an August 28-30 “preview.” Some restaurants also offer a head start on dining with Preview Weekend August 28-30. Reservations open on August 4. Three-course prix fixe dinners run $39 or $49. Two-course lunches go for $19. Most resto require a reservation to honor the RW deal

Diners can also add a free additional course with a “FedEx Office / DFW Restaurant Week Fourth Course Certificate. ”
