Sugar Factory American Brasserie, the infinitely Instagramable sweet shop and restaurant based in Las Vegas,  has opened its first Texas location, choosing Dallas for its family-friendly, high-energy, celebration destination known for sweets and treats.

The combo bar, restaurant and sweet shop has taken over the former Ruths Chris steakhouse at 1900 Cedar Springs Rd (nearly adjacent to Haywire), with reservations available beginning this weekend. Dallas, at  the first time with its new Dallas location, opening to the public in fall 2021.

“With more than a decade serving up decadent sweets and treats around the world, we are so excited to bring our fun, high energy brand to the state of Texas,” said Sugar Factory partner Larry Rudolph. “From our larger-than-life goblets, to our photo op walls and our friendly staff, every element of Sugar Factory American Brasserie Dallas is designed to give guests a one-of-a-kind, Instagrammable and interactive experience.”

The 200 seat main dining area sports brightly colored flower walls designed as a background for that IG shot, an elaborate and three-dimensional floral ceiling, a video wall, a retail store with a colorful candy heart wall. A cocktail bar seats 20. The patio includes fire pits, a lit flower tree and retractable store-front windows.

Sugar Factory serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Its menu includes burgers, pizzas, pastas, and salads, towering milkshakes (one is dusted with 24k gold, another drips with Ferrero Rocher golden truffles, and yet another is festooned with a gold draped chocolate glazed donut, whipped cream, a milk chocolate macaroon, and a gold dusted chocolate covered vanilla ice cream bar.

But SF isn’t only burgers and sweets. Entrees include steaks, pastas, seafood, even Double Stack Rainbow Pancakes – fluffy, colorful rainbow pancakes, served with warm maple syrup, and topped with chocolate chips, gummy bears, strawberries and whipped cream with rainbow sprinkles.

Ok, who’s kidding? Sugar Factory really is all about sugary sundaes and bar drinks, especially their King Kong Sundae, which serves up to 12 people and is constructed with 24 scoops of ice cream covered with sprinkles, gummy bears, caramel sauce, fudge sauce and giant whirly pops.

On the liquor side, there are celebrity tie-ins galore.  A Watermelon Mojito contains Pitbull’s Voli 305 Vodka and sour watermelon gummies. The Rock’s “Soul Man” is made with his Teremana Tequila; 50 Cent’s Candy Shop is built with Branson Cognac; Mario Lopez’s Monster Hurricane is based on Casa Mexico Silver Tequila; Travis Scott’s Strawberry Hustle is Cacti Spiked Seltzer; Bruno Mars’ Watermelon Piña Colada and Mai Tai are made with SelvaRey Rum; and Nick Jonas and John Varvatos’ Strawberry Cadillac Reposado Margarita made with Villa One Tequila. A 64 oz. alcohol-infused smoking candy goblet called a Lollipop Passion arrives garnished with lollipops and candy necklaces.

You know what they don’t have? A great frozen Margarita. For that, you’ll need to swing next door.
