Everything you need to know about Carbone Dallas, including the opening date
Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick’s Carbone Dallas debuts Thursday, March 31, in the Dallas Design District, inside sources tell EscapeHatch exclusively.
An homage to Italian-American restaurants of the mid-20th century, Carbone is both dinner and a show — the place oozes glamor with elegant table side service and a New York-Italian menu that includes familiar dishes like Linguini Vongole, Lobster Fra Diavola, Chicken Scarpariello, and a veal Parmesan as big as your head.
Reservations will be tough: VIPs are flooding the request line, but insiders tell us that fully staffing the front of the house here (like everywhere else in town) has been challenging.
Take a peek at those pictures. The place is extra extra, even with pre-opening daytime lighting. At night, the place dazzles.
The design is 100% Fulk — that’s both the name of the style and the designer, San Francisco-based Ken Fulk. It’s over-the-top theatrical, quirky and fun.
That outdoor covered patio is perfect for our spring weather right now. The restaurant can seat about 100 inside and another 70 outside.
Inside sources tell us Vino, an uber-casual pizza and wine spot that shares that covered patio, will likely open late next week.
The original Carbone debuted in Greenwich Village in 2013 and has expanded beyond NY to Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Miami. .

Yes, there’s another Dallas restaurant with a similar name (Carbone’s Dallas), but the two are completely different. The fancy, new Carbone — the one you want to visit right now — is at 1617 Hi Line Drive.
