Las Vegas restaurant ShangHai Taste brings its Shanghainese soup dumplings and treats to Plano

Plano’s culinary scene is about to get a delicious upgrade with the opening of ShangHai Taste, a well-regarded Las Vegas dumpling spot, on October 1, 2024. Located at 109 Legacy Drive, this new outpost promises to deliver the same award-winning Shanghainese cuisine that made its Las Vegas locations a hit. The Las Vegas Review -Journal first reported the news.

Co-founded by Joe Muscaglione and James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Jimmy Li, ShangHai Taste is renowned for its xiaolongbao, or Shanghai soup dumplings. The handmade dumplings are filled with savory broth and tender meat. The Plano location will offer the same menu as its Las Vegas counterparts, ensuring that Texas diners get an authentic taste of Shanghai.

ShangHai Taste’s grand opening celebration is set for October 8, 2024, a date chosen for its auspiciousness in Chinese culture (the number eight symbolizes good fortune).

The new location is part of the Legacy Century Crossing development, which includes popular restaurants such as Cho Dang Village, Sichuan Folk, Nishiki Ramen, and #1 Noodle.

With only 38 seats, the Plano restaurant mirrors the cozy atmosphere of its sister locations while offering a modern twist with warm, earth-toned interior, breaking away from the brand’s traditional red color scheme.
