Pappas Bros. Steakhouse Serves Chefs for Farmers Menu Benefiting Dallas Charities
is doing more than serving prime steaks this October. The acclaimed restaurant has rolled out a special Chefs for Farmers 2025 menu, created to showcase locally grown produce and benefit two Dallas-based nonprofits: Paul Quinn College and New Friends New Life.
Each three-course meal, priced at $68.95, includes dishes built around vibrant ingredients — think iceberg slab with heirloom carrots and honey bacon, broiled salmon fillet with beurre blanc, and a chocolate caramel tart with toasted Texas pecans. Of course, a hefty steak is also an option. For every guest who orders the menu, Pappas Bros. will donate $10 to support its two community partners.
The menu is part of the broader Chefs for Farmers program, the well-regarded Texas-born food and wine festival that pairs chefs and local producers to celebrate the region’s cooking. Founded in 2010 by Iris Midler, the festival has grown into one of Dallas’s signature culinary events, known for linking chefs and nearby farms.
Paul Quinn College, one of the nation’s oldest historically Black colleges, continues to champion social justice and community transformation through its “We Over Me Farm,” which repurposed the school’s former football field into an urban farm supplying fresh produce to local neighborhoods. Legends Hospitality and the Dallas Cowboys are the largest purchaser of fresh produce grown by Paul Quinn’s farm.
George Wasai, Legends’ Vice President of Food and Beverage, is a Paul Quinn alumnus and tremendous advocate for the school; he was a member of the college’s football team and has fond memories of playing on the former turf. “It’s a special place for sure,” he told me, “and we’re honored to support the college.”
This year’s partnership with New Friends New Life helps fund programs that provide survivors of human trafficking with counseling, job training, and education. The Dallas nonprofit also operates the Youth Resource Center, which supports at-risk girls ages 12 to 22 with trauma-informed care and life-skills training.
By tying the Chefs for Farmers collaboration to these two organizations, Pappas Bros. connects fine dining with meaningful local impact. The limited-time menu runs through October at the restaurant’s Dallas location.
