What I’m Drinking Now: Sommelier Heather Green is Crazy About Krug Grande Cuvee

<span style=”font-family: Helvetica; line-height: normal; font-size: small;”>KrugA good Champagne adds sparkle to your day. A great Champagne transforms your whole attitude.

Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, where I am a sommelier, is offering one of my favorites by the glass for only $32. That may sound like a lot, but it’s definitely not for the Krug Grande Cuvee, which is at once rich and fresh, powerful and elegant.

Its creamy texture and fine bubbles are luxury and comfort. The cellarmasters at Krug have nurtured its flavor profile (a blend of three grape varieties and multiple vintages) since 1843.  One hundred and fifty years of expertise pays off brilliantly.

Need a second glass?  A half bottle is only $65.  Enjoy it before, during or after dinner.  Take a break from holiday madness and treat yourself.

Really.

You will not be sorry.

Green is certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers as a Sommelier. She is a member of the wine and spirits team at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas and writes about wine and spirits for EscapeHatchDallas.com.
