Green House, Dallas’ Big-Deal Food Truck, Ready to Roll (UPDATED)

Back in January, EscapeHatchDallas.com told you about Dallas’ first big-deal food truck, Green Truck. Owner Michael Siegel wrote

Our concept is called Green House, and it’s the first specialty food truck with a kitchen to roll the streets of Dallas.  Our goal is to provide a quality meal that is well-priced, fast, and delicious.

Chef Ben Hutchison, formerly of the Food Company catering, is the chef of Green House. He’ll be on the truck, working in its kitchen every day. Ben created the menu, which focuses on healthy, homemade and seasonal foods, including Ben’s firehouse chili and a variety of rotating daily specials.   The format and the cuisine will be a departure from traditional restaurants in Dallas.

The truck is a fully refurbished catering truck and is about ready to hit the streets.  We’re in the process of selecting initial service areas and a route schedule, which we’ll tweet and post on our Website.  We’d love to hear location suggestions from Dallas foodies – both general areas, as well as specific spots you’d like to see us.  For more information and the latest news, follow us on Twitter – greenhousetruck – or at our Website – www.greenhousetruck.com.

Well, Green House is ready to roll. Here’s the menu.

UPDATE:  Owner Michael Siegel wrote yesterday to say

The truck will be a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot – think of it as an outdoor coffee shop.  People can get the food on the run, or stick around and relax.

The menu is set for the rest of March, but it will constantly change based on customer feedback and seasonal vegetables.  For instance, the hearty vegetable soup will lighten up as kale and other winter vegetables become out of season.  We have an ambitious menu with a lot of choices – the other food trucks around the country tend to stick to only a few items that they can churn like clockwork.  We’re trying to give our customers as many choices as possible so that they can have a new experience every time.
We’ll be focusing on the Park Cities to begin – a combination of families, schools, and parks make it an ideal area.  It’s also central and accessible from a number of highways.
We are already swamped with catering requests ranging from a seated dinner for twenty to a festival for 1500 in April.

We are finalizing a 5,000 sq ft facility that will house the truck and our kitchen facilities.
