Happy Summer Solstice! Deep Ellum Brewing Company Snags Former Dogfish Brewing Co. Head Brewer
<b>Jeremy Hunt was the brewmaster at Bluegrass Brewing Company in Louisville, Kentucky, for the past two years, but that’s apparently not as big a deal as his previous job — he was the head brewer for Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and reportedly played a key role in helping the company grow from 60,000 barrels to 160,000 barrels in four years. Understandably, the good folks at Deep Ellum Brewing Company are eager to spread the word that Hunt is joining their team as DEBC’s head brewer.
“The main point of hiring Jeremy is that quality and consistency is of utmost importance to us, and we feel that Jeremy is the right man for the job,” writes Tait Lifto, DEBC’s PR evangelist in an email he sent to the Hatch.
“Jeremy is a huge fan of Deep Ellum’s beer, having first tried them at the Great American Beer Festival in late 2012,” the email continues. “Jeremy had offers on the table from some very big name craft breweries, but ultimately chose Deep Ellum based on three things; the beer, the team, and the brewery’s perfect storm for growth. He’s excited to maintain an already excellent portfolio, but don’t be shocked to see some left or right of centerline beers coming down the pipeline.”
