EscapeHatchDallas.com crew pulls American Airlines / USAir jet plane 25 feet to win

The Hatch HQ crew took the day off to compete against teams from American Airlines and USAirways in a plane pulling competition at DFW Airport today. The goal: pull an A319 jet 25 feet faster than any other team. Well, I can tell you this — our team of 20 Hatch staffers and fans found it a lot tougher to get that jet moving than we thought. Sure looked easy in the instructional video.

Happy to report we won the event. No, not the prize for moving the plane farther or faster than any other team. We won the prize for best media team, beating out all the other media teams who competed. Not sure exactly how many there were, but pretty sure I heard AA spokesperson Andrea Huguely tell me that we were the only one.

Yeah, this is kind of an Inside Baseball film, but if you’ve ever wondered how hard it is to pull an airplane, here’s your chance to take a look. You have 30 seconds, right?

Thanks to the Hatch crew: Andre Natera, Clint Cooper, Rick Turner, Michael Smith, Derek Wilcox, Taylor Kearney, Will Larson, Andrew Thomas, Christina LaBarba, Josh Newton, Alejandra Arango, Cory Brady, Rebecca Marmaduke, Austin Holt, Jarrett Phillips, Marshall Morton, Clayton Wertz, Leete Jackson and Marc Colombo.
