Hot Date: Oak “Exquisite Dinner” Series 7 course dinner on October 6 to feature tastes of fall


in the Dallas Design District, is launching an “Exquisite Dinner” series. The first dinner of the reoccurring series will be held on Sunday, October 6th at 6:30 pm. Chef  Richartd Gras’ seven-course menu “will showcase his favorite ingredients of the season” and run $125 per person (an optional wine pairing is available for $50 per person). A cocktail hour with tray pass hors d’oeuvres begins at 6:30pm and dinner begins promptly at 7pm. Call Oak (214-712-9700) for reservations. Here’s the lineup:

amuse bouche

heirloom melon wrapped in house made pancetta, xo sauce

white gazpacho “explosion”, horseradish, shrimp chip

foie gras pbj, spinach, vanilla

 

1st course

colorado lamb tartare,

egg yolk mousse, black olive, mint

 

2nd course

maine lobster flan

sea urchin, pickled cucuamelons, olive oil marmalade

 

3rd course

charred onion consomme

bone marrow dumpling, root vegetables, sorrel

 

4th course

line caught swordfish

braised daikon, dashi, red currants

 

5th course

slow cooked pork “butche”

pistachio, lardo, beer mustard, crispy bread

 

6th course

crispy duck breast

duck chorizo, parsnip, beets, and white chocolate

 

7th course

milk chocolate cream

black sesame, cashew, puffed rice, salted caramel ice cream

 

after dinner

blue cheese macaroons
