Mesa Veracruz owner Raul Reyes to open Ceviche, a casual seafood joint, in Bishop Arts District this summer

If you are a fan of Mesa Veracruz in Oak Cliff  (and really, who isn’t?), then you are going to love this: Raul Reyes, Mesa’s chef/ owner, will open Ceviche, a casual, seafood-centic restaurant in the Bishop Arts district late this summer.

“It will be a very casual place to eat ceviche, shrimp cocktails, tostadas, peel-and-eat shrimp and crab legs,” Reyes’ daughter Jaret told me.

The 120-seat Ceviche will be located in a former mechanic’s shop on Davis Street, across from La Paisanita taqueria. “My dad started building it out about two weeks ago,” says Jaret. “He’s doing most of (the construction) himself,” using recycled materials, a hallmark of Mesa’s decor.
