Dean & DeLuca cancels its Legacy West retail store

Luxury culinary retailer Dean & DeLuca has cancelled plans to open a retail store under construction at the Legacy West development in Plano, the retailer has unexpectedly announced. The Dallas Morning News reports that the company plans to double down on its web business and re-evaluate its retail portfolio, but that there weren’t any red flags at Legacy West that prompted the decision to abandon that location or DFW in general.

Dean & DeLuca warned earlier this month that it is also likely to pull its title sponsorship of the PGA Tour’s annual Colonial golf tournament in Fort Worth.
