The Theodore, inside NorthPark Center, has closed

I really like the guys behind The Theodore, so it’s no fun to report that The Theodore, their smart casual, sit-down restaurant in NorthPark Center, has closed.

Partner Chris Jeffers tells Sarah Blaskovich over at Guidelive.com that the shopping center did all they could to help keep it afloat, but that “sales weren’t there.”

I’m saddened, but not surprised. The Theodore, which debuted in 2015 on the shopping center’s north side, consistently received lackluster reviews from friends and on Yelp, that depository of bad reviews that no one likes but everyone reads.

Jeffers and partners Chris Zielke and Graham Dodds operate the restaurants inside the Statler Hilton Hotel in downtown Dallas. With chef Tim Byres, Jeffers and Zielke also own Chicken Scratch and Smoke restaurant. More than a year ago, the team also opened then closed a second location of Smoke in Plano.
