Princi Italia, New Restaurant from Patrick Colombo and Chef Kevin Ascolese, Opens Friday, September 7


Princi Italia, the new Dal-Ital concept from restaurateur Patrick Colombo in the former Popolo’s space at Preston Royal Village, will open Friday, September 9. Princi will serve dinner only until October 4, when it will also lunch and Sunday brunch.

The farmhouse interior is from JonesBaker design and the menu is from chef Kevin Ascolese, who will also run the kitchen.

Expect homemade pastas, thin crust pizzas (Princi has a wood-burning oven) and seasonal veggies and salads.  According to the restaurant’s publicist, the menu also includes “Tortollini Fonduta with black truffle and butter sauce; Italian Wedding Soup with chicken meatballs, pastina and gremolata; Fava Bean alla Toscana Bruschette; and Quattro Formaggio “Bianco” Pizza with mozzarella, parmesan, gorgonzola and goat cheese.”

Colombo and Ascolese have deep Dal-Ital culinary roots. Colombo currently operates Sfuzzi; Ascolese was a long-time chef at Mi Piaci, among others.
