Bistro 31, New Restaurant in Highland Park Village, To Open Monday
By Mike Hiller
Restaurateur Alberto Lombardi will open his newest concept, Bistro 31, in Highland Park Village on Monday, October 3, a company spokesman confirms.
Mansion on Turtle Creek alum Eric Brandt is the execuchef.
Bistro 31 bills itself as a Mediterranean influenced restaurant serving local/seasonal foods with French, Italian and Spanish influences. The place is small–just 2,000 square feet, with seating for 45–but spills out to a patio that seats 3o.
Bistro 31 is part of Lombardis Family concepts (Toulouse, Sangria, Taverna, Penne Pomodoro, Cibus and La Fiorentina).

Sorry to say, this new place was a big disappointment!
Of my beet salad with burrata the I could only eat the 3 little slices of beet, the cheese was old and smelled bad. The waiter could not have cared less! My friend had a salad with poached salmon; the salmon was small and extremly dry, I was amazed that it was even eatable! The service was rushed, the only interest the waiter had was how quick he can fill the table again. All in all, neither would I recommend the place to anyone, nor would I ever go back! There are plenty of other good restaurants in Highland Park Village!
Let me know what you think about it. I wont get there till late next week.
GOING TUESDAY NIGHT, THEN WEST SIDE STORY…”I JUST MET A RESTAURANT NAMED”, BISTRO 31.
