Savor, the new restaurant in Klyde Warren Park, to open Tuesday
“We have exciting news from Savor today,” my email inbox clanged yesterday with a message from a PR pro. “Klyde Warren Park’s first restaurant will have a soft opening next Tuesday, Sept. 24 for dinner. Executive Chef John Coleman has been busy hosting trial feedings for friends and family the past few weeks so that he and his staff can deliver an exceptional dining experience when the doors officially open.”
Nearly a year ago, I quoted Savor’s press release: “Savor will have a chef-driven menu with shared plates such as baked ricotta with house-made flat bread and buttermilk fried calamari with green curry dipping sauce.”
“Hmmm, buttermilk batter and green curry?” I asked. “That doesn’t sound like an appealing match. But maybe Savor’s chef, John Coleman, knows better. After all, Coleman left the Dallas Ritz in July to work on Savor after “an impressive 23-year career with Ritz-Carlton, most recently serving as executive chef and director of food and beverage for the Ritz in Uptown Dallas over the last five years.”
Well, Coleman’s showtime has arrived. Looking forward to popping in so I can give you the 411 on those calamari with the green curry dipping sauce.
