“Sip, Savor, Socialize”–DISH is coming to Oak Lawn
Doug Brown (Beyond the Box) is the concept chef behind this new Cedar Springs venture in the Illume development in Oak Lawn. Here’s the cut-and-paste of how their spokesman describes DISH:
Serving modern comfort food, DISH’s menu features fresh, simple food that can be enjoyed everyday at an affordable price. A live DJ, custom sound and lighting systems help transform DISH from restaurant to cool, laidback lounge. The 5,500 sq. ft. restaurant seats 156 and features a covered patio and several dining areas with distinctive design elements including retractable floor-to-ceiling glass walls on the building’s perimeter, an open kitchen, one-of-a-kind polycarbonate chainmail drapery and LED coves that wash color across large sculpted wall panels.
With a focus on fresh, simple and comfort, DISH diners can expect only the best ingredients melded together to create classic dishes with a twist at an affordable price. DISH’s menu items range in price from $4 to $21. Described as “modern comfort food”
DISH’s menu features items you will want to eat everyday, with a revolving seasonal menu. Utilizing local farms and purveyors when available, DISH will serve everything from flatbreads from a gas-fired pizza oven to Fran’s Texas Free Range Roasted Chicken using unique ingredients and accompanied by delicious sides. Menu items include Jimmy’s Pepperoni and Fresh Mozzarella Flatbread, BBQ Braised Short Ribs with Lucky Layla Buttery Mash, and a Harris Ranch Natural Flat Iron Steak with House Cut Fries and Times Ten Cellars Cabernet Butter.
To compliment the menu, DISH will offer culinary inspired cocktails using fresh-squeezed juices, fruits and herbs, including the Strawberry Basil Margarita, a mix of Jose Cuervo Silver Tequila, Cointreau liqueur, strawberry puree, fresh lime and basil. In addition, DISH’s wine list will be comprised of well-known names designed to pair well with the home-style cuisine. DISH will also offer an abbreviated bar menu after 11 p.m. for those wanting a late, light bite.
Not wanting to leave anyone out, the DISH team has created a canine-friendly menu for four-legged friends to enjoy on DISH’s expansive patio space. Using natural and organic ingredients DISH’s canine menu is sure to leave Fido wanting more.
Wait, there’s more:
The main dining room is centered around a one-of-a-kind polycarbonate chainmail drapery fabricated in New Zealand and highlighted with color changing LED lights.
Need more?
Chandeliers sprout from mirrored recesses in the ceiling creating an illusion of a view above the ceiling and revealing an infinite sparkle. Complimenting the main dining area are several raised banquettes with black vinyl seats…
Canines, plastic drapes made from chains, sprouting chandeliers, black vinyl seats? Hmmm.
Hey, I’m just the messenger.
