Radar Range: Pappasizing DFW International Airport

Hot on the heels of opening the first full-service Pappasito’s Cantina in a decade, the Pappas family has been covertly working on another concept for DFW International Airport.

A scion of the Pappas family, Christina Pappas, told EscapeHatchDallas that a 249-seat Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen will open this summer a few gates away from their new 150-seat Pappasito’s.

“I haven’t been this excited about a restaurant space in years,” said Pappas. No wonder. The restaurant, which guests will access via escalators adjacent to the food court at Terminal A, Gate 24, will be downstairs.

The new Pappadeaux will inhabit a space vacated by the old airport trAAm, but it will still be within the secure area inside the terminal. Christina Pappas and company spokesperson Amy Robinson said the airport Pappadeaux will evoke the spacious feel of an old European train station, with graceful lines, tall ceilings, and chandeliers.

Kyle Noonan, a Pappasito’s veteran from Chicago, will manage both restaurants.
