Free Pizza Monday Night from Jay Jerrier and Il Cane Rosso’s Wood Fired Oven
Jay Jerrier, the force behind wood-fired mobile pizza pop-up Il Cane Rosso, is testing pizza pie recipes for his newest gig: concept chef for Brackets sport bar and you’re invited to taste his creations and tell him what you think. Last August, we were the first to tell you that the Hotel Palomar was going to refashion the defunct Trader Vic’s into Brackets, an upscale sports themed restaurant and bar with “a gaming area for adults.”
Jerrier will be offering pizzas for his Brackets trial run starting at 5 pm at Mi Piaci, 14854 Montfort Dr, Dallas, (972) 934-8424.
The pizzas will be similar to Il Cane Rosso’s awesome pies. “Awesome ingredients, Neopolitan style,” says Jerrier. “We are going to (cook) some other things in the wood oven as well.”
Jerrier’s readying a permanent location for Il Cane Rosso in Deep Ellum, but he has no ETA on an opening date. The holdup? He’s waiting on a special Italian dough mixer and a custom made pizza oven to ship from Naples.
Oh, and Game 5 of the World Series will be on the tvs, too.
