Velvet Taco, a new farm-to-fork concept from Mark Brezinski and the folks at Front Burner Restaurants, is under construction at the corner of 75/North Central Expressway and Henderson Avenue in Dallas. Velvet Taco will inhabit the renovated space once occupied by Church’s Fried Chicken.

“These are handcrafted tacos with house made tortillas, a lot of locally sourced produce, sustainable ingredients,” said Jack Gibbons, one of Velvet’s owners. Gibbons wouldn’t divulge much about the menu until closer to the opening date, about 90 days away, but he did offer that “these are not your usual tacos. They’re not Mexican or Tex-Mex, but they’ll be big on flavor.”

Brezinski co-founded Pei Wei, Bengal Coast and Zinsky’s Deli. Front Burner Restaurants, led by Randy DeWitt, Jack Gibbons, Alex Urrunaga and Scott Gordon, is the force behind the Ranch at Las Colinas, Twin Peaks, Whiskey Cake Kitchen, Ojos Locos, Red Dog Right.
