Primebar, New Uptown Restaurant and Bar Opening in September
Uptown Dallas is getting another honey-colored restaurant and bar. Primebar, from a company with a dozen restaurants under their out-of-state umbrella, is set to open next month on Cedar Springs. Look for “two-handed sandwiches” (chicken club, portabello, cubano–each around $11–and burgers ($12) and “small plates” among the “New American” lunch menu, plus steaks for dinner. (Naturally, there’s a burger with bacon and a fried egg.)
It’s taking over the old Maguire’s Uptown space.

Roger Greenfield and John Tate of Restaurants-America announced they will open Primebar, a contemporary American restaurant and ale house, in Uptown Dallas, giving local residents and visitors a place to enjoy great cocktails, local brews and delicious food.
Primebar, which has four locations (Wesley Chapel, Florida; Hallandale Beach, Florida; Chicago, Illinois; and Scottsdale, Arizona), is known for its unique combination of a contemporary and comfortable atmosphere paired with convenient dining and featuring local products.
Primebar’s distinctively urban interior includes hardwood floors, mosaic tiling and oversized leather booths. The contemporary American kitchen highlights local organic products and makes everything in-house, and the menu features a sophisticated selection of small plates, salads, sandwiches, and specialty entrees along with an array of beers on tap, an extensive wine list and hand-crafted signature cocktails.
Menu stand-outs include appetizers like the Yellowfin tuna sashimi (jalapeno, cilantro and a yuzu-ponzu sauce) and shrimp and scallop ceviche. Specialty entrees include a daily “Bento Box” with a daily creation of Mediterranean, American or Asian boxes, horseradish crusted salmon (with roasted asparagus, tomatoes, and potatoes) and Kurobuta pork chops (Cajun seasoned in a garlic white wine sauce and served with peppadew polenta).
Primebar will serve dinner and cocktails Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., and lunch, dinner and cocktails Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
