David Garwacki wil be exec chef of Cafe des Artistes in OAP – UPDATE: Opening Delayed

David Garwacki will be the executive chef for Alberto Lombardi’s Café des Artistes, opening November 6th in One Arts Plaza.

“He is developing a Cali-Euro menu with seasonal market fresh ingredients along with culinary touches from the United States mixed with flavors from France, Italy and across the Mediterranean,” Lombardi said through a spokesperson.

Garwacki returns to Texas after an 11 year stint at California’s Bacara Resort and Spa, where he was most recently the chef of their high profile Miro restaurant.

Lombardi has charged Garwacki with developing a California and Mediterranean inspired menu for his Parisian bistro, so we’ll see how that works.

UPDATE 10/31: From OAP:

“Due to construction issues, the opening of Café des Artistes has been delayed a few days.  It will not open to the public on Tuesday, November 6.  It will open no later than Friday, November 9. As soon as an exact date is determined, it will be announced.”
