Chef Joel Harloff Takes Over Struggling Ocho Kitchen

is now in charge of the menu and kitchen at Ocho Kitchen and Cocktails, a place I visited shortly after it opened and found little worth embracing.

I’ve been a fan of Harloff’s simple, flavorful cooking since he helmed the Landmark Restaurant at the Melrose Hotel, many years ago. Most recently, Harloff was executive chef at Second Floor Bistro and Bar in the Dallas Westin Galleria hotel. (We told you a couple of weeks ago that he had hastily departed.)

Harloff says he’ll be instituting new lunch and dinner menus, focusing on healthy Latin dishes that feature seafood, wild game, and Southwestern flavors.
