Beer Stalking: the Hatch’s Cory Brady on New Craft Beer Movie, “Drinking Buddies”

The Hatch stopped by the Magnolia Theater Thursday night to sip some locally brewed craft beer and catch an advanced screening of Drinking Buddies, a film about, well, craft beer. Actually, the plot focuses on a budding romance between two co-workers at a craft brewery in Chicago, but we went for the beer and to learn a little bit about the growing popularity of the trendy new brews (according to Business Insider, craft beer sales rose by a whopping 15% last year).

To help set the mood, Deep Ellum Brewery was on hand to serve samples of their own excellent, locally brewed  beers before the screening. While not the primary focus, the film seems to nail the honest-to-goodness passion these brewers have for their (wait for it) craft.
