Marquee Texas Grill Relaunches as Village Kitchen, includes Pecan Lodge BBQ on Menu

Restaurant owner Brian Twomey and chef Andre Natera are relaunching their Highland Park restaurant, the former Marquee Texas Grill, as Village Kitchen this week. The new decor and menu suggest casual, kid-friendly and relaxed, says Natera.

Gone are the tablecloths and stuffy food. In are menu items such as roasted chicken with quinoa pilaf, BBQ ribs, tomato and crispy burrata salad. There’s also a flatbread topped with smoked brisket from Pecan Lodge. Yep, another big news deal: BBQ great Pecan Lodge is extending its reach into other people’s restaurants, too.

Village Kitchen probably wont offer Pecan Lodge’s Hot Mess, but daily chalkboard specials will range from fried chicken with bacon and chive waffles to lobster thermidor, says Natera.

Village Kitchen opens Thursday, August 22. No word yet on an opening date for the new upstairs sushi bar.
