Sprinkles Ice Creamery Opens Today in Dallas
If you think the Sprinkles cupcake ATM is a big deal, wait till you see this: Sprinkles Ice Cream shop opens at noon today, August 16, right next to the Sprinkles cupcakery (and that cupcake ATM), in the Plaza at Preston Center, Preston Road and Northwest Hightway.
All the ice creams are made in small batches. I’ve tasted half a dozen of their rotating flavors, including peanut butter cup (peanut butter ice cream with chunks of chocolate peanut butter cups), cap’n crunch (the cream is steeped with Cap’n Crunch cereal) and red velvet (Sprinkles’ red velvet cupcakes and frosting mixed in).
Lots of interesting ways to order your scoops. You can get your groove on in a cup, topped with crumbled Sprinkles cupcakes (!). Or get a couple of scoops in a red velvet cone. If you’re even more adventurous, order the ice cream sandwiched between two cupcake tops.
The Dallas location is Sprinkles’ third ice cream shop and the first outside of Southern California. Candace Nelson, Sprinkles’ founder, says Sprinkles original shop in Beverly Hills has shipped more pints to Texas than any other state. Taste it and you’ll understand why. Nelson will be in town for a meet-and-greet at the new Sprinkles Ice Cream store today from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
