The Original Sonny Bryan’s BBQ Opens Bryan Brewhouse on Inwood

The original Sonny Bryan’s, once universally lauded as one of the nation’s best barbecue joints, is trying to claw its way back into our bbq rota. Adjacent to the low-slung, weathered smokehouse on Inwood Road, the owners have constructed Bryan Brewhouse, an enclosed, air-conditioned patio where you can eat your ‘cue in relative comfort (no school house chairs). In the evenings, the Brewhouse is staffed with a bartender who pours Texas brews from 5 pm till 9 pm. Peticolas’ Velvet Hammer and a couple of Four Corners beers are on tap; a dozen more are sold in cans or bottle. And yes, there’s a big flat screen for sports.
