Chef Jeff Harris leaves Bolsa for AF+B in FW, Andrew Bell taking over Bolsa
Chef Jeff Harris has quietly departed Bolsa for the greener pastures at Consilient Restaurants (the empire behind Porch, Hibiscus, Fireside Pies and CBD Provisions (which I raved about here).
Harris told the Hatch that tomorrow will be his last day Bolsa. He leaves to become the exec chef at the new AF+B (formerly known as American F+B ) in Fort Worth, whose DNA is similar to CBD Provisions and is expected to open later this year. AF+B was supposed to be helmed by chef Jeffery Hobbs (formerly of Sissy’s Southern Kitchen), but clearly that didn’t work out.
“Jeffery Hobbs is a terrific chef and a great guy and will always be a friend of Consilient,” says Consilient’s CEO, Tristan Simon, through a spokesperson, “but we determined together that AF+B wasn’t the right fit for him.”
Andrew Bell, formerly of Nosh (among others), is taking over the kitchen at Bolsa, where he plans to introduce a new menu in November.
(Thanks to Whitney Filloon for alerting me to the acronym update and wondering if all CR’s new restos will have acronyms for names. For the record, CR’s spokesman confirms the name change from American F+B to AF+B.)
