Mattito’s Tex-Mex has opened in the pedigreed Star Canyon location in Oak Lawn

Mattito’s Tex-Mex  opened its newest outpost Tuesday in the Centrum in Oak Lawn.  Owners Jeff Frankel and Jim Lannom have chosen a location with a pedigreed past. The spot was originally Stephan Pyles’ legendary Star Canyon. Later, the restaurant transformed into a short-lived Silver Fox (where Jeff Armand was GM. He left to run Avner Samuels’ Nosh Euro Bistro and is now at Dee Lincoln’s Steak & Burger Bar in Uptown — at least until he moves to run a new DLSBB in Plano next month). If Tex-Mex is your deal, Mattito’s stands ready to punch your ticket.
