Driftwood’s “bar bites” menu is a good under-$20 way to pair Omar Flores’ cooking with Michael Martensen’s cocktails

I may be late to the party, but did you know Driftwood, Omar Flores’ and John Badoin’s seafood restaurant in the BAD, serves little bar bites to pair with Michael Martensen’s cocktails?

The bar bites menu changes weekly. The items have recently ranged from Salt Pond oysters with yuzu kosho and mizuna for $1 each to Akaushi beef short ribs on brioche with pickled beet stem and garlic chips for $7, to “Hot Chocolate” with marshmallow noodle and graham cracker for $5.  (I have no idea what “Hot Chocolate” with marshmallow noodle and graham cracker means, but I’d risk the $5 to find out.)

The bar bites are sold Tuesday – Saturday from 5 p.m. till 10 p.m.

Driftwood, 42 W Davis St., Dallas, 214-942-2530.
