Peek inside Cafe Momentum, the “eat, drink, change lives” nonprofit, opens its permanent restaurant Thursday
Cafe Momentum, the “eat, drink, change lives” nonprofit that rescues at-rsik youths and teaches them life lessons and job skills by operating a restaurant, opens its permanent location, in downtown Dallas, this Thursday. Dinner service will run Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights each week, 5 pm to 10 pm.
Cafe Momentum is trading out the traditional ribbon cutting, instead slicing through a six-foot-long baguette. The space contains a full-service restaurant and classrooms.
Cafe Momentum provides a transformative experience in which young people who have spent time in juvenile facilities rotate through every aspect of the restaurant from waiting tables to washing dishes, while working side-by-side with established chefs. They learn life and job skills, resulting in confident individuals who are equipped for future success. (photos courtesy Cafe Momentum)
