Chef Tim Byres, Chris Zielke, Chris Jeffers and team behind Smoke, Bolsa to open The Theodore in NorthPark Center this fall

Turn the Tables Hospitality Group, the team behind Chicken Scratch, Bolsa, Bar Belmont and two locations of Smoke restaurant, will open a New American restaurant in NorthPark Center this fall.

To be called The Theodore, Todd Johnson, formerly a writer at D Magazine and now the communications guy for Turn the Tables Hospitality Group, sends word that “the highlight of The Theodore’s menu will be its shareable plates featuring artisanal toasts, American tapas, and flatbreads. (G)uests are encouraged to mix and mingle such offerings as:

  • Oxtail and beef shank stuffed peppers with white bean puree
  • Mushroom, parsnip, dried tomato, and pecorino flatbread
  • Dry cured ham and fruit mustard toasts”

Yep, toasts are a thing (they’re appearing locally at Breadwinner’s, too, and a few places nationally. Let’s all pray this is a short-lived affectation.

The Theodore will offer “herbaceous cocktails,” “private nooks,” “sumptuous seating,”  and a “cocktail den … destined to become an urban retreat.”

The open kitchen will also sport a bakery whose windows open to the mall.

The Theodore is under construction at the north entrance of NorthPark Center between Nordstrom and Macy’s.
