Hard Rock Energy Drinks reboots with new flavors, available now at 7-Eleven

<div class=”wysiwyg”>

If you’re looking for a new(ish) energy drink — my preference is coffee — then you might want to stop by 7-Eleven to pick up a few tall cans of Hard Rock Energy Drinks. The brand has relaunched reformulated blends for Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio and promise “a quick energy boost without the post-crash often associated with other energy drinks.”

Whatever.

Hard Rock sent Hatch HQ a sampler, so we took a look at the label. The drinks contain cane sugar (or splenda), taurine and about 80 mg of caffeine. Since an eight ounce cup of brewed coffee contains between 90 and 220 mg of caffeine, and since there’s no strong evidence that taurine in energy drinks does much, there’s a good chance most of the energy jolt is in your mind…literally.

If you’re into energy drinks, these now come in Citrus, Paradise Punch and Sugar Free varieties.
