Stephan Pyles’ Flora Street Cafe is now open for dinner. Here’s the phone number.

Stephan Pyles debuts his new restaurant, Flora Street Cafe, with dinner beginning at 5:30 pm tonight. Pyles and his staff have been mum on details, but the restaurant confirmed that the reservations book is now open.

While the small restaurant (fewer than 80 seats) will eventually open for lunch, the current plan is dinner only, beginning at 5:30 pm daily except Sundays. A light night snack menu is offered in the bar till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, a reservations agent told me.

Flora Street is located near the Dallas Arts District downtown. It’s tough to find the main number, so put this one in your phonebook now: 214-580-7000.

Some say Flora Street may be Pyles’ last go at a new restaurant. Its small size, tight menu and fine dining emphasis represent an homage to his well-regarded Routh Street Cafe of the 1980s.
