Annual pie contest raises money for nonprofit Good Local Markets, awards ribbons, offers tasting tickets


<p class=””>pie-contest_webA fundraiser with pies? Yep. The non-profit Good Local Markets, which provides public space for local farmers, ranchers and artisans to sell their goods, hosts their eigth annual Fall Pie Contest on Saturday, November 12, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at Lakeside Baptist Church (9150 Garland Road). It’s $10 per pie to enter the contest, but the public gets to sample all the pies for just $5 and vote in an election for the winner.

Kids under 12 years old can enter the “Good Local Kids Pie Contest.”

Pie crusts and fillings must be homemade.  Winners in each category will receive an official Good Local Markets pie ribbon.  Register at the market, or at www.goodlocalmarkets.org.
