Watch “Big Tex” construction at the State Fair of Texas on Friday, September 22

It’s “Howdy, Folks” time at the State Fair of Texas. The iconic Dickies-clad skeleton of Big Tex will be installed at the fairgrounds in a public ceremony on Friday, September 25. It’s the 60th year that the 55-foot centerpiece of the fair, known for his “howdy, folks” greeting, will welcome visitors to the State Fair when the fair opens to the public on September 29.
