Florida stone crabs are back. Find them at these two Dallas seafood powerhouses

Sweet, ephemeral, fresh Florida stone crabs are finally back in season.

Crabbers trap the native stone crabs in the warm Gulf waters and off the Keys. The most ethical harvest only one claw then return the crabs to the water so they can regenerate the claw and carry on.

Right now, you can find medium, large and colossal stone crab claws at The Keeper in Plano and Truluck’s restaurants in DFW. (Truluck’s offers a $79 all-you-can-eat deal on Mondays.)

The Florida stone crab season runs through mid-May.
