Cluck Alert: Newcomer Angel Chicken Kitchen has terrific chicken biscuits
Chef and restaurateur Tim Soufan is turning out these hefty buttermilk biscuit fried chicken sandwiches at his new Angel Chicken Kitchen in North Dallas. The former Pappas and Tre Amici chef (remember Tre Amici? I loved that place) brings a one-two punch of sweet jalapeno jelly and tangy goat cheese to this winner (and even the crunch of lettuce played an integral part).
The restaurant space isn’t much to look at — some faux reclaimed wood paneling, knick-knacks, bric-a-brac (you gotta have K-K and B-A-B to make this kind of place feel homey, right?), cafe seating, but the from-scratch kitchen seems to buzz with workers dicing fresh veggies, frying chicken and keeping the place clean.
