Magic biscuits debut in Plano with opening of The Biscuit Bar

Magically delicious biscuits are popping out of the Easy Bake Ovens of a new Plano restaurant.

Jake and Janie Burkett, a husband-and-wife team with a thing for from-scratch, buttery biscuits have opened The Biscuit Bar at The Boardwalk in Granite Park.

The Burketts made quite an impression on their friends at a New Years Eve party, where they served praiseworthy biscuits (and probably one too many cocktails). You know what? Opening a 2,200 sf restaurant that focuses on biscuits takes spunk. And a lot of money. So we should give the Burketts and their biscuits a shot.

“We love comfort food and think everything tastes better on a biscuit,” says Janie Burkett in a press release. “The Biscuit Bar is the perfect place for food lovers who crave biscuits as sandwiches, with toppings or as a dessert, morning, noon or night.”

Their magic biscuit menu includes not just biscuits like The Hoss (southern fried chicken, bacon, jack/cheddar, honey butter and house made sausage gravy), but banana pudding, tater tots, sweet potato tots, a kids’ menu and cocktails on tap, which alone makes the restaurant family friendly.

I haven’t been yet, but Janie sends the pic above to show her biscuits are legit.
