Jonn Baudoin and Omar Flores part ways at Casa Rubia

“We’re no longer partners in Casa Rubia,” Omar Flores told me last week. “I bought Jonn (Baudoin) out and he’s doing his own  thing,” which is Sugar Skull Cafe, an all-day coffee shop/taco shop/margarita shop/dessert shop/restaurant in Trinity Groves. The pair were partners in Casa Rubia, but employer/employee at Driftwood.

Which means Flores is in the pilot seat now, assisted by Bob Sambol and the management team of Trinity Groves.

Flores says the menu at Casa Rubia will continue to evolve as a modern Spanish tapas place, but for now, Flores seems happy flying solo.
