Shake Shack unlocks its Legacy West doors, bringing its burgers, Chicken Shacks and concretes to Plano with Danny Meyer in tow

DFW’s second Shake Shack opens for business today, making its debut as one of the first retail stores to open in the $3 billion Legacy West development under construction in north Plano. Our Hatch spies learned that Shack founder Danny Meyer is in town for the opening.

You can’t see the new Shack from Legacy West’s entrance because the restaurant is tucked behind retail stores like Dean & Deluca and Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse and across from a Tesla showroom (all under construction), but trust me, it’s there, sitting next to West Elm (open now) and a parking garage.

Like the Dallas Shack, the Legacy West Shack offers some items unique to the store, including three frozen custard concretes: “West Slide” (made with vanilla custard, Sugar Ray’sold fashioned strawberry cupcake and strawberry puree), “Top Twirl” (with chocolate custard, Top Knot miso caramel cake, banana and fudge sauce– and so good you will order another), and “Pie Oh My” (vanilla custard and a slice of Emporium Pies seasonal pie– this month its blueberry).

Beers are local, too, from Four Corners Brewing Co.and Deep Ellum.

You can order in advance using Shake Shack’s app.
