Brazilian Churrascaria Fogo de Chao Expanding Again
<em>From Dallas-based Fogo de Chao:
Fogo de Chão, the internationally-renowned Brazilian churrascaria, has signed leases to open two restaurants in the United States in Las Vegas (Fall 2011) and Orlando (Winter 2012) and they have just opened their newest location in Brazil in Rio de Janeiro today.
The Las Vegas restaurant will be located in the Hughes Center business park. Jair Coser, who co-founded Fogo de Chão with his brother, Arri, in their native Brazil 30 years ago, said Fogo de Chão will open its doors at 355 Hughes Center Drive at the end of this year.
“We’ve been looking for the right location in Las Vegas for some time,” Coser said. “Now that we found it here in Hughes Center, we’re looking forward to bringing the flavors of Southern Brazil to Las Vegas and to serving the people who live, work and visit the area. We can’t wait to begin offering guests the chance to experience the distinctive tastes, traditions, service and ambiance of Fogo de Chão.”
The Orlando restaurant will be located at 8282 International Drive, right in the mecca of the city’s finest restaurants and entertainment venues. It is the second location in Florida and is expected to open in early 2012.
Fogo de Chão – pronounced fo-go dèe shoun – originated in Rio Grande do Sul, Southern Brazil. Coser said it features “delectably slow-roasted meats prepared by Brazilian-trained Gaucho chefs, impeccable service, an award-winning wine list and a gourmet salad and sides bar.”
Named one of America’s top restaurants by the Zagat Survey, Fogo de Chão has received numerous accolades since opening its first restaurant in the United States in 1997. The Las Vegas and Orlando locations will be its 17th and 18th restaurants in the U.S. Fogo also has seven restaurants in Brazil with the June 15th opening of Rio de Janeiro.
Fogo has chosen an amazing new location in Rio de Janeiro on Av. Nestor Moreira in BotaFogo. The new restaurant will have capacity up to 400 guests and will offer a view to one of the main touristic attractions in the country, the Sugar Loaf.
Fogo’s last opening was on August 27, 2009 in San Antonio.
“I am thrilled to announce this very exciting news for Fogo de Chão,” said Coser. “We sought out some exceptional locations and are excited this new round of growth for the company.”
