Mi Cocina Founder Mico Rodriguez Opening New Restaurant, “12 Tables”

<strong>Mico Rodriguez, who founded Mi Cocina but is no longer invested in the company, is opening a new solo venture called 12 Tables in late October, a source close to Mr. Rodriguez tells EscapeHatch.

12 Tables takes its name from Rodriguez’ first restaurant, the original Mi Cocina, which had just 12 tables. The new place, in the former Burger Girl restaurant on McKinney Avenue in the Uptown section of Dallas, is under construction now.

12 Tables will be a small, neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant with a covered patio–a far cry from the multimillion dollar, big box places that Rodriguez had grown accustomed to opening.

Rodriguez was unavailable for comment.
