Restaurant Critic’s Diet: Breakfast in HP Village, at Bistro 31

benedict with serrano ham on foccacia (they call it a toasted panini--at least the food is better than their menu accuracy)

ham and gruyere galette (um, no -- not a galette, more like a crepe)

lemon ricotta griddle cakes with blueberry compote

basque omelet has spanish chorizo, tomatoes, onions, manchego and basil

serrano ham paninetta (huh? guess new places can make up new words)

housemade granola with greek yogurt

nice breakfast menu

GM marcus cascio (nice guy)

decent croissant

I hate mornings. I love breakfast. Hard to reconcile, But if you live in the Park Cities, that got easier last week with the debut of Bistro 31′s breakfast menu. Served every morning (plus a special menu for Sunday brunch), the place is worth checking out. Order the cappucino viennese, the ham and gruyere galette (I loved its bright-sunny-side up disposition) and watch the world stroll by. So Parisiene.
