Dallas Wine Expert Dlynn Proctor Has Cool New Job, Moved to Florida

If you’ve noticed a little less sartorial flair in the air around town recently, it’s because dapper dresser and master sommelier candidate Dlynn Proctor has packed up his ascots, corkscrews and tastevins and moved (with his wife and dogs) to Fort Lauderdale to join Treasury Wine Estates as the East Coast regional brand manager of their luxury wine division. Proctor’s boss is Fred Dame, the founder and president of the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Guild of Sommeliers.

“Essentially, I’m the ambassador for some really great wines,” Proctor told me. “This is a fantastic job,” even though it keeps him “on the road and in a rental car” much of the time.

What labels are in the Treasury Wines’ treasury?

Penfolds (the maker of Grange), Chateau St. Jean (Cinq Cepages), Etude, Souverain, Stags’ Leap Winery, Beringer and Greg Norman, among dozens of others.

While in Dallas, Proctor consulted on or developed wine lists for many restaurants, including Cedars Social and Private Social.

Though he’s moved to southern Florida, Proctor says he’ll still be active in charity and wine events in Dallas. (And, yes, he’ll still be contributing to the Hatch.)
